Sarpatta Parambarai, the first-look poster of Pa Ranjith's much-anticipated film, is out and fans can't contain their excitement. Pa Ranjith, after the success of Rajinikanth's Kaala, declared that he would team up with Arya for a boxing film called Sarpetta Parambarai. This year the film was expected to be released in the summer. The outbreak of the novel coronavirus, however has triggered development delays. Pa Ranjith took to Twitter to unveil the film's first-look poster today (December 2). He posted an impressive picture of Arya wearing a beefed-up look and training himself inside the boxing ring for the final round.
Pa Ranjith shared the first-look poster and wrote, "@K9Studioz proudly presents the First Look of @arya_offl 's #SarpattaParambarai Boxing glove..A @beemji film (sic)."

On the internet, the poster is already a success. Dushara Vijayan, who debuted with Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari in Tamil, was roped in to play the female lead. There is yet to be an official statement about the cast and crew. Santhosh Prathap of the Kathai Thiraikadhai Parthiban Vasanam Iyakkam fame will be seen in the film playing a negative role. There is speculation that Sarpatta Parambarai will be on the side of the Mukkabaaz of Anurag Kashyap. The film, released in 2017, was based on boxing as well.
Ranjith was expected to do a biopic on the life of Birsa Munda, a freedom fighter, after Kaala's publication. Because of manufacturing difficulties, though, things did not materialise. On the other hand, Arya is waiting for Teddy to be released, which features Sayyeshaa, his wife, as the female lead. He works on Aranmanai 3 as well, directed by Sundar C.
