Irfan Pathan Veteran Cricketer Turned Actor

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who is all set to make his acting debut with Vikram's Cobra, revealed that he is playing the role of an Interpol officer in the film, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. Last year, the makers of Cobra announced that Irfan Pathan has been roped in to play the antagonist in the film. Though a couple of pictures from the sets of the film that made their way on the internet, there were no details about his character.

Now, the cricketer-turned-actor has surprised the movie buffs by revealing that he will be playing an Interpol officer in the film and also shared pictures of himself clicked during the film's shoot in Kolkata. Irfan wrote, "What an Interpol officer doing in Kolkata?? #shoot #movie #cobra #throwback @AjayGnanamuthu." Fans were quite excited to see their favourite cricketer donning the greasepaint.

Irfan Pathan had earlier spoke about working with Vikram. He said, "What I love about Vikram is, he is a very simple man after all the success he had. Whenever I meet him on the sets, we used to have a wonderful time." It is worth mentioning that the cricketer wrapped up shooting for his portions in January. The first-look poster of the film, featuring Vikram in seven different looks, was released in February and it went on to become an instant hit on the internet. Speculations were also that Vikram will be sporting more than 20 looks for the film, and that he will mainly play the role of a photographer.

Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, the makers were supposed to shoot major part of the film in Russia. However, the shoot got stalled mid-way due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Vikram has decided to resume the shoot once things get back to normal. A few days ago, Cobra team released a song from the film, titled Thumbi Thullal. Composed by AR Rahman, the romantic track features Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty of KGF fame.
