Team India faced a bitter result as New Zealand swept ODI series. The BlackCaps defeated team India in third ODI played at Mount Maunganui.
Once again the toss did not work in favour of captain Virat Kohli as he lost it. Kiwis captain Kane Williamson won the toss and asked India to bat first. Once again Mayank Aggarwal failed to capitalize a golden opportunity in the absence of Rohit Sharma. He was dismissed cheaply for one. Prithvi Shaw would have scored a half century if wouldn't have been run out at 40.
Kohli is out of form through the tour, was dismissed for nine. It's KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer who build the Indian innings. Iyer scored a well made 62 but Rahul brought up his fourth ton and first against New Zealand. After Iyer, Manish Pandey assisted Rahul and in the end, India put a total of 296 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Chasing the target, New Zealand made a destructive start. Opener Guptill smashed Indian bowlers all over the park. Yuzvendra Chahal got the much needed break for India in the 17th over but the score board kept moving. In the 40th over, things looked like India has an edge but middle order batsman Colin de Grandhomme spoiled the chances for India. He scored 58 of just 28 balls with six fours and three massive sixes.
This is New Zealand's first whitewash against India and nearly after 30 years, India conceded a whole series defeat.
