Number 1 And 2 Out From World Cup

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is full of surprises. While the entry of the host country England into semi-finals itself was not confirmed till last minute and it was confirmed only after England defeated New Zealand in the Leagues.

After the League matches, the final four teams that got selected to the semi-finals as per rank order is India (No. 1), Australia (No. 2), England (No. 3) and New Zealand (No. 4). What's shocking is that No. 4 team has beaten No. 1 team in the first semi-final match and shocked one and all. If this is not enough, England has now defeated No. 2 team Australia and thus entered into the finals. While Australia scored 223 for the loss of 10 wickets in 49 overs, England that chased 224 has beaten Australia with ease. The top order of England cemented its position paving a way for their thumping victory.

So, taking even experts and enthusiasts by surprise, neither No. 1 team India nor the No. 2 team Australia have entered the finals. Both England and New Zealand are going to slug it out for the Cricket World Cup 2019 at the Finals match which is going to be held on 14th July, 2019 at Lord's stadium in London. What is interesting is that neither England nor New Zealand have won a single Cricket World Cup till date. If either one of them wins the cup, it will be first for the team to win Cricket World Cup. So, let's wait and see, who will snatch the cup.
