In a shocking turn of events, a lady MLA became a victim of cybercrime after a fraudster reportedly made a video viral that is said to have featured the woman legislator. After finding out about the obscene video, the MLA moved the Police and a case was filed in this backdrop.
However, the incident is not reported from India, but from our neighboring nation Pakistan. As per the media reports, the victim who fell prey to cybercrime is Sania Ashiq who represents the Taxila Assembly constituency. She belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party.
It has been widely reported that the alleged obscene video features the MLA and Maryam Nawaz, former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's daughter. The video became viral last month and she filed a complaint against this with the government and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
After probing the incident for three weeks and investigating the case, it is said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had nabbed the accused from the Punjab province reportedly. However, the details and identity of the accused are not revealed by the officials.
On the other hand, the media reports also say that the officials are probing the incident even after the accused was reportedly nabbed. The probe is said to be to know if the person featured in the alleged obscene video is the MLA or not.
