Never before did we witness this kind of action in Britain's Royal family. In an unprecedented move, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they would step back as senior members of the Royal Family and spend more time in North America. Which means, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to work to become financially independent.
Soon after the news came in, London's Madame Tussauds museum has announced to our surprise that it has removed the wax statues of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from its Royal Family set. "From today, Meghan and Harry's figures will no longer appear in our Royal Family set. As two of our most popular and well-loved figures they will, of course, remain an important feature at Madame Tussauds London as we watch to see what the next chapter holds for them," Steve Davies, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London said in a statement.
The younger son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Prince Harry is sixth in line to the British throne. The royal duties include supporting the current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, in her national duties, and carry out important work in the areas of public and charitable service. Here the term senior member means - full-time working members of the royal family, perform regular duties in the Queen's name and are highly visible representatives of the monarchy both in Britain and abroad.
Apart from Harry and Meghan, senior members include Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. Now that Harry and Meghan came up with the decision of calling it quits,i.e., out of senior member duties, it is believed that the duo did not inform a single member of the royal family before announcing their decision.
