A 14-year old girl was sexually assaulted by her father at Railway New Colony area under IV town police station in Vishakapatnam. The girl was repeatedly assaulted over a period of time and the incident came to light on Tuesday night after the doctors found the minor girl to be pregnant.

According to the police, the victim’s father works as an electrician in a private company and has been taking care of his daughter since the victim’s mother died in 2016 due to cancer. Recently, the victim suffered from severe stomach pain and was shifted to hospital. After the doctors realised that she was pregnant, they informed the police as it was Medico Legal Case (MLC).

Inspector of IV Town police station, Ch Prem Kumar said that “ The accused lured his daughter into submission and sexually assaulted her over past few months. We have booked case of Rape and POSCO Act.”The accused has been put in custody and case has been transferred to Disha Police station and further investigation has been going on.
