Jagans Govt Issues Another Controversial GO

A day after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced three capital regions, another sensational GO was issued by AP government on Wednesday. The GO states that government cancelled the allotment of returnable plots made to the purchasers of assigned lands.

It is notified as violation of provisions under AP Assigned Lands Act-1977. Which means, government is likely to return the assigned lands to actual owner.

The ruling YSRCP government is alleging that previous CM Chandrababu Naidu and his party involved in inside trading before announcing Amaravati as state capital. The main argument of YCP leaders is that, 'Several TDP leaders have purchased assigned lands in capital region and returned to government at the time of land pooling. In return, they gained lands from state government.' Now that YCP government has brought in a new GO to cancel the allotment of returnable plots, all the assigned lands will be returned back to actual or previous owners.

On other hand, the decision to have three capital regions has upset the people from 29 villages in Amaravati, who gave lands to previous government. To protest Jagan's announcement, they have called for Amaravati bandh on 19th December.
