Ambati Rayudu Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket

Telugu cricketer Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement from international cricket. In a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Rayudu said he is quitting all forms of the game.

The middle order batsman was in headlines ever since the selectors have ignored him for the ICC Cricket World Cup. Vijay Shankar was picked ahead of Rayudu and even after the former getting injured, Rayudu was not given a chance.

However we are yet to know whether Rayudu announced retirement for getting snubbed. He started playing cricket from the age of 16 and he shot to fame in under-19 team. At the age of 21, Rayudu was supposed to make it to the Indian national team and finally in the 2013, Rayudu made his ODI debut.

Since then he had played 55 matches and scored three centuries and ten fifties with an average of 47.05. Before the world cup, Rayudu performed well in the series against New Zealand and captain Virat Kohli too backed Rayudu.

After VVS Laxman, Rayudu too got the tag of retiring without playing the cricket world cup.
