The Indian cricket team has reached the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup as they defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs. Winning the toss, skipper Virat Kohli opted to bat first. Once again Rohit Sharma shined with a bat and scored his fourth century of the tournament. Another opener Lokesh Rahul too made a fifty and that helped the team India to post a total of 314 runs.

Chasing the total, Bangladesh started off well. But they kept losing wickets at regular intervals which cost them the match. Shakib-Al-Hasan was the only batsman who countered the Indian bowling attack. He scored 66 runs and was dismissed by Hardik Pandey. All-rounder Saifuddin tried to threaten India’s winning chances in the end but Jasprit Bumrah had done the damage by picking the tailenders with consecutive deliveries.

Rohit Sharma was awarded Man of the Match.

India has one more match to go against Sri Lanka on July 6th.
